One year later and the tree has really filled in a lot more. As you can see I bent many of the branches on the right side more downward. This balanced the tree very well. Also by bending other branches down along the trunk line I am able to hide the thin trunk near the middle. Sept 2006

I rewired this tree in order to get some control of all the new growth. I don’t expect this tree to really have a defined shape until next summer. However I believe the basic outline can be seen at this stage. Sept 2006

This tree has never looked better than this. I cleaned the trunk last winter with some white vinegar to remove some mold. However it dried out a few fine branches along the trunk. So now I have the bare spot right in the middle. The nice thing about ficus is their ability to recover, so it won’t be long until I have a nice full canopy again. Sept 2006

There are times when things just come together, and this is one of them. By rewiring this tree, and repotting it the tree now looks stable and balanced. I still need to develop side branches near the top but that won’t take long. Next step is to begin leaf reduction next spring and then this tree will really be something to see. Sept 2006
