I realized over the past week that the pot that I had planted my Wrightia religiosa was too big. The color wasn’t bad, but the large wide pot make the trunk look small. This tree has a rather large trunk and I needed a smaller pot to emphasize it. As for the color, I was told that a light blue glazed pot works well with the leaf color and the small white flowers that bloom during the year.

Spring has finally arrived in Orlando, and the trees are coming to life! My Large Trident Maple has been pretty sluggish this year, but this weekend’s warm sun has it popping with new leaves all over.

I just love the new leaves that come in red. It will just be a few weeks before the turn a bright green, but these colors look so beautiful!

Well it’s not an Oscar, but I’ll take a Mouscar any day!  For the past 8 years I have been part of the BSF-Epcot Committee for the selection and dipslaying of Bonsai in the Japanese Pavillion at Epcot.   Also for the past 3 years I have been the Chairman of the committee.  As part of this event, WDW gives out plaques, trophies, etc in appreciation of our participation.  However this year they out did themselves!

It’s no secret that I adore Disney, and to be able to combine my love for Bonsai with WDW is just awesome. Thanks Mickey!

This weekend I was at a friends house who said that they were looking to have some plants removed from their yard.  One tree in paricular attracted my attention.  This well established Gardenia was a great treasure to come across.
