This picture really shows the structure of the tree. Very clean lines and a nice shape on top. There were suggestions made to shorten the tree or eliminate the top but I’m not sure if I like that or not yet. January 2005

Newly repotted and wired this tree is looking exceptionally good (if I say so myself). As you can see the tree was previously potted very low in the bonsai pot. Also it was at a bad angle. I repotted this tree into this pot (which I don’t like very much) but was an absolutely perfect fit. I had to pull the top to the right so that it was in line with the trunk and had to pull the first low branch down. This one looks great but is missing back branches badly. They should be in this year so next year this one should be looking show ready. (January 2005)

Well a couple of things happed here. The tree was removed from the pot and then some large roots were removed. By doing this I was able to move the tree to the right in the pot and center it better. I also did some pruning and wiring of new branches. This tree is finally how I want it to be, and will be looking great this year. January 2005

Well I certainly need to get caught up on pulling weeds. The trident maple has grown so much this year. In a few weeks I will repot the tree and wire out the branches for the first time. The wounds are also healing very smooth, the extra time I took to carve them down is now paying off. (December 2004)
