January 2004, Re-wired the new twiggy branches that developed through 2003, Notice also that I root pruned the tree so it sits lower in the pot. Compared to the picture more of the trunk shows now giving me a fat base and a cleaner look.

Tree rewired and restyled. Dec 2003. Next year the tree will be repotted into a smaller pot. This pot is purely for training because a large root below the surface needs to be removed, but new roots need to grow first.
Also pretty nice to see how my neighbor’s swimming pool turned out.

Winter (December) 2003. Tree has gone dormant but shows branch development. First branch graft took and had thickened up to almost a half inch in one season. More branches are needed in bare areas. However the lowest branch on the right side was the tread graft.

In December 2003 Mike Rogers and I repotted the tree, and styled it similar to Guy’s drawing, but decided to move a few of the branches around. Can’t wait to see what this tree looks like this spring.
